....Closer to home, Fire Island provides ample raw material for Rick Mundy, whose watercolor, "Lighthouse Friends", casts the famous beacon as a landmark for nesting gulls.  Mr. Mundy excels at atmospheric effects, using weather  changes, like the clearing squall that foils the lighthouse,  to dramatize commonplace subjects.
