Rick Mundy's award-winning watercolor portrayals of nature
in Adirondack landscapes, Fire Island Beach scenes and Alaskan panoramas, have been very popular,
but when he saw the Manhattan scene from a rooftop view in Chelsea, he was intrigued.
Roof gardens, gargoyles, landmarks and endless variety of water tanks are captured with characteristic realism in his nine paintings simply
entitled: "Chelsea".
A completely different aspect of the city, a rooftop view, unfolds in this fascinating
vertical treatment through nine serial transparent watercolor paintings, beginning with a northern
view, through east and ends looking south.
